The German Sustainability Award is the largest prize of its kind in Europe. This year, for the first time, the competition will be expanded to include the design category. Susanne Brandherm is a jury member for the prestigious award, which honors exemplary examples of sustainable design. Established icons are considered as well as current pioneers and visions for a more sustainable future. Together with other renowned jurors, Susanne Brandherm decides on the award for the best sustainable solutions. Entries come from all areas of design: construction and furnishings, clothing and accessories, communication, mobility and transportation, health and care, packaging, leisure and tourism, food and agriculture, information and education, and professional and office.
The new design award launched on schedule on March 23 and is expected to run as planned. Due to the Corona pandemic, the competition comes to the participants and participants: The application is online and feeds from digital information. If applications are completed in home offices and gaps therefore arise, these can be filled in subsequently or taken into account in the evaluation. Deadlines will be extended upon request. Companies of any size, designers inside and outside agencies, students and startups can apply. The application period ends on June 15. The award ceremony will take place on December 3 in Düsseldorf.
