Being included in a best-of list is always a special recognition of our work. We are therefore delighted that once again this year, one of our projects has been ranked among The Most Beautiful Restaurants, Hotels & Bars. The jury of the award, which is presented by Callwey Verlag, has selected the Locomotive Shed in Marburg as one of the top 50 gastronomic interior design concepts of 2024. Alongside those at the forefront of the catering sector, the aim is to highlight the work of the planners and their ideas.

The Most Beautiful Restaurants, Hotels & Bars showcases exclusive insider tips, new openings as well as successful redesigns and renovations. Among the latter is the former Locomotive Shed in Marburg, which has been revitalised as a cultural and meeting place. The gastronomy we designed reflects this uniqueness of the location through artistic interior design. The linear direction of the former railway tracks is integrated into the spatial design, as are “Crossing Points”, open structures made of steel profiles with lush planting. The colour and material concept also draws inspiration from the historical context. The combination of old and new has resulted in an extraordinary space – which is now impressively confirmed by its ranking among The Most Beautiful Restaurants, Hotels & Bars 2024. Equally gratifying is the inclusion of the MTU company canteen in the award’s longlist. The complex spatial structure with different catering areas is difficult to assign to a single project category, but it was nevertheless included in the list due to its design quality. Instead of a classic canteen, our interior concept has created a culinary meeting place with feel-good spaces catering to different needs and offering a high quality of stay.
