We are delighted to announce that REWE Trakt X, the innovative workplace project designed by brandherm + krumrey interior architecture (b-k-i) for the REWE branch in Hürth, has been honoured with the prestigious Best of Year Award from US magazine Interior Design in the co-working office category.

Now in its 20th year, the Best of Year Award is one of the most important international awards in the field of interior design. Each year, over 5,000 submissions from around the world compete in over 100 categories, ranging from living spaces to hospitality and working environments. The jury of international experts recognises project solutions that combine outstanding design, innovation, functionality and cultural relevance.

REWE Trakt X impressed the jury with its sensitive use of space, materials and functionality: a versatile education and event area that promotes knowledge transfer, creativity and interaction has been developed within an existing building covering around 480 m². The design Incorporates zoned areas for focused learning, open spaces for lively discussions and flexible room configurations featuring a warm, natural palette of materials and colours. A particular highlight is the narrative #UMDENKBAR, a social and spatial focal point that embodies the spirit of the project.

The award boosts b-k-i’s international visibility and confirms once again that interior architecture can have an impact far beyond pure functionality – as a form of cultural expression, as a space for possibilities and as a catalyst for innovative working and learning environments.
