Susanne Brandherm in the Jury
We are thrilled that Susanne Brandherm has been appointed to the international jury team for the iF Design Award 2026. The iF Design Award is one of the longest-running and most prestigious design competitions worldwide and has been considered the benchmark for outstanding design quality, innovation and sustainable design since its inception in 1954.
As a member of a high-caliber jury of experts comprising over 120 specialists from more than 20 countries, Susanne Brandherm will contribute her experience and perspective to the multiphase evaluation process, which selects the best national and international design solutions from nearly 11,000 submissions. The works of nine disciplines are evaluated, including product design, interior architecture, architecture, branding and communication design, as well as service and system design.
The jury’s work focuses on five criteria that emphasizes the interplay between idea, form, function, differentiation and sustainability – an approach that also corresponds to b-k-i’s design philosophy. The involvement of a Sustainability Working Group ensures that ecological and social aspects are considered throughout the evaluation process.
Susanne Brandherm on her appointment:
“For me, the iF Design Award is not only about the formal quality of designs, but also about their impact and relevance in a cultural and social context. Design creates meaning when it connects people, spaces and questions about the future in a meaningful way.”
The final jury of the iF Design Award 2026 will meet in Hamburg in February, followed by the official award ceremony in Berlin in April, a highlight of the international design scene.
