Work Lounge

Resting place for team building

For the extension of the headquarters of the Coroplast Group in Wuppertal, brandherm + krumrey realized an inspiring work lounge. The interior design follows the idea of a spacious apartment with areas for contemplation and communication. An open impression of space, materials that are pleasant to the touch, and the flowing transition from indoors to outdoors create an atmosphere that is both relaxed and stimulating. As a family business, the internationally active Coroplast Group can look back on a history of over 90 years. The manufacturer of adhesive tapes, cables and wires attaches particular importance to good working conditions for its employees and has already received several awards for this. With the redesign of the company restaurant, brandherm + krumrey were already able to upgrade another area on the company premises with an empathetic interior design. To enhance the feel-good factor for employees, the new work lounge was also designed to be particularly homely. The interior is divided into different functional zones and opens up to the adjacent roof terrace with large glass surfaces. The central area with lounge furniture and an open fireplace is both a place to rest and a meeting zone for team building. A seating landscape embedded in the floor connects the indoor with the outdoor space and offers room for relaxing or for “campfire conversations”. A kitchen area with a large dining table also serves as an informal meeting place, and its dark color scheme effectively contrasts with the otherwise light interior. For retreat or concentrated work, seating niches are available on the back wall. Sensually appealing materials such as natural wood, leather and colored textiles underscore the homely character of the new Work Lounge.
