REWE Trakt X honoured as Public Winner
The REWE Trakt X project by brandherm + krumrey interior architecture (b-k-i) was honoured with the German Design Award 2026 as Public Winner in the category Excellent Architecture – Interior Architecture.
With this award, the jury recognises a working environment that sets new standards for contemporary office and meeting spaces.
REWE Trakt X is an example of architecture that prioritises openness, interaction and transparency, deliberately breaking with traditional office structures. The project aims to create spaces that promote communication and make hierarchies visible, while also offering places for focused work.
b-k-i developed the interior architecture concept as part of the overall master plan for the REWE Campus in Hürth. Trakt X is a pilot project for flexible working environments and new collaborative working methods. The design combines a clear spatial structure with a sophisticated choice of materials and colours, as well as room-in-room systems that facilitate presence and proximity without losing sight of functional requirements.
The jury particularly emphasised that the project not only offers functional solutions but also creates cultural added value: REWE Trakt X is perceived as a place for dialogue, reflection and shared identity; a working environment that embodies a deliberate mindset and physically represents the evolution of modern working cultures.
The German Design Award is one of the most prestigious international design awards and is presented by the German Design Council. The recognition as a winner highlights the design quality and relevance of REWE Trakt X in the context of contemporary interior architecture in public and semi-public spaces.
