Meeting Cube for REWE
Multifunctional meeting place
REWE Region West is a significant local supplier in North Rhine-Westphalia and northern Rhineland-Palatinate. The Head Office West of REWE Markt GmbH is based in Hürth near Cologne. In the company’s administration building, archive rooms became available and needed to be repurposed. To optimise the use of space, these areas were to be converted into a meeting area with a pantry, as requested by the employees. The interior design by brandherm + krumrey addressed this need with an atmospheric room-in-room solution.
A central spatial element ensures that the generous central zone of the now available space remains an integral part of the overall experience. Glass walls and windows open up the inserted so-called Meeting Cube towards the surrounding space, creating visual links and an open overall impression. Dark colours on the floor, ceiling and walls lend the centrally positioned Meeting Cube a calm elegance, which is equally underscored and contrasted by the warm wood and leather shades of the high-quality conference furniture. Selective lighting subtly highlights individual areas of the central meeting space. Behind the cube’s rear wall is a spacious copying station with plenty of space and storage for printer materials and workspaces. The former archive room has thus been transformed into a multifunctional meeting place: where the file shelves used to be, employees and managers now meet for lively exchanges and work.
