The “Klink am Ring” in Cologne’s city centre accommodates eleven different and interconnected medical faculties. As one of the first of its kind, the hospital focused on combining high-quality medicine with a personal environment. This approach is clearly evident in the design of the in-patient wards by brandherm + krumrey.

In the in-patient wards, patients can recover after surgery with a comprehensive service. The clear and unobtrusive interior design makes the stay as pleasant as possible. Without appearing sterile, the rooms convey discreet privacy. Materials and shapes comply with the regulations, but at the same time they clearly differ from standard hospital equipment. Warm colours, wooden surfaces and exclusive design offer a comfort that one would expect in the rooms of upscale hotels.
