We are delighted to receive another award at the Iconic Awards Innovative Architecture: the former locomotive shed in Marburg and its gastronomic areas designed by us have been particularly honoured at this year’s competition with the “Winner” label. The German Design Council awards excellence in architecture and design with this international prize, emphasising their interplay. The focus of the awarded visionary buildings and interiors is on holistic staging.

With the Locomotive Shed in Marburg, the Iconic Awards acknowledge the revitalisation of historical industrial architecture. As part of the transformation of the former railway building into a modern event venue, we designed the gastronomic facilities with references to the existing structure. The uniqueness of the place is artistically reflected in the new interiors. Room-dividing lines follow the former train tracks, with open and lushly planted steel constructions serving as eye-catchers at their intersections. The combination of old and new has created an extraordinary place, whose charm arises from the equally independent and context-related interior design.
