The new bdia interior design handbook has been published and this time it is a very special edition. Not only because it is the anniversary volume for the 70th anniversary of the bdia. The title also shows our project Max Planck Institute in Hamburg. With the newly designed “Café Max” on the cover, the handbook again refers to current trends and the outstanding level of design in interior architecture in Germany.
In the anniversary issue, future topics in interior design are presented with three specialist articles and 25 current projects – including the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg and the headquarters of the Birkenstock Group in Cologne’s Rheinauhafen, which we also designed. A jury of experts selects outstanding examples of current interior design for the annual bdia handbook. Now for the fourth year in a row, our projects are part of it. “Invigorating new” is the title for the contribution to the redesign of the public spaces at the Max Planck Institute, for which we have already received this year’s German Design Award. Birkenstock’s Cologne office and showroom space, inserted into two historic port warehouses, is presented as an “impressive working environment.” The bdia handbook is now available in stores or can be ordered under ISBN 978-3-7667-2559-2.
