Focus on the Patient
The Saarland University Hospital is considered to be the leading medical facility in southwestern Germany. With the new central building IMED in the immediate vicinity of the surgery and the diagnostics centre, medicine at the Homburg location has been strengthened even further: short distances, innovative equipment and optimised processes facilitate future-oriented diagnostics and therapy for patients as well as effective research and teaching. The interior design developed by brandherm + krumrey meets the needs of patients particularly well and complements the architectural concept of WörnerTraxlerRichter.
On entering the clinic, the spacious foyer immediately welcomes visitors with bright and pleasant colours. The vibrant shades of green on the façades are continued in subtle variations on the walls and interior fittings. Warm shades and light-coloured furniture in the cafeteria above the main entrance also support the open spatial impression. Sunny, warm colours are also found in the patient’s rooms, whose subtle interior design is supported with materials inspired by nature. Beyond high-performance medicine, rooms for rest and regeneration were created here.
