Open Room Concept
During the renovation of the Forum Apotheke in Berlin, brandherm + krumrey were able to implement a modern and equally functional interior design concept. For this purpose, the salesroom in an old building dating from the turn of the century was thoroughly redesigned.
Following the conversion, the pharmacy near the Neuköllner city hall provides an additional floor area of 150 square metres. Due to the relocation of a gateway, the static challenge was enormous. The result with freely positioned furnishings in the room looks all the more open. Surfaces made of linoleum and solid surface material or a large steel shelf integrated into the shop window characterise the modern ambience. When looking up or at the walls, one can find references to the building’s history. Parts of the brickwork and the historic stucco ceiling were exposed during the conversion and incorporated in the design.
