Sabine Krumrey talks about transformation in office real estate
For a sustainable building turnaround, the focus should increasingly be on the preservation of existing buildings. Munich’s Building Centre is therefore hosting on June 24th an online forum on the conversion of commercial buildings into residential space. Sabine Krumrey’s presentation, entitled “Raumwandel: Büroimmobilie neu gedacht” (“Space Change: rethinking office real estate”), will highlight new approaches.
The event is part of the “Umbaukultur” (“Conversion Culture”) series, which uses specialist forums to share practical knowledge and innovative solutions. By presenting new concepts, projects and methods, the series of talks aims to actively contribute to sustainable building and urban development. In part 1 of the series, Sabine Krumrey and other renowned experts will shed light on a reorientation of the construction industry: The high demand for living space and increasingly mobile working behavior are changing the requirements for office buildings. The potential offered by a growing number of vacant commercial buildings could be used to generate new living spaces. What this conversion culture could look like will be discussed at the forum in Munich.
