Every year, the nationwide Day of Architecture invites everyone to discover special and high-quality buildings. We are looking forward to taking part again with one of our projects on June 30, 2024. This time, we will be presenting the Specialist Hospital for the Soul in Sehnde, Lower Saxony, and will be on site together with the planning offices tsj-Architekten and LAD+ Landschaftsarchitektur. The largest new psychiatric building in the North of Germany was conceived by Wahrendorff Hospital as a “temporary home” to gently prepare patients for their return to everyday life.

We designed the inpatient areas with a sensitive overall concept to create a healing environment for the applied therapies in the specialist hospital. Based on the hospital’s specific requirements, we created an atmosphere that allows for retreat and conveys a sense of security, thus meaningfully supporting treatment and regeneration. We would like to present this design, which is equally stimulating for body, mind and soul, to everyone interested on the “Day of Architecture”. On June 30, Julia Dörffel and Anni Rosenberg from our office will be on site from 10.00 to 16.00. Together with the involved planners from tsj-Architekten, they will explain the unique design approach in the specialist hospital. This will present an opportunity to talk to the planners involved and gain exciting insights. We look forward to a lively exchange.
