The apartment we designed in Cologne’s Gerling Quartier has won an award at the most important residential design award in Germany. This year, for the eighth time, Callwey Verlag, together with industry partners, has presented the “Best of Interior” award. Once again, outstanding private interior design concepts were sought: harmonious, homely, contemporary and personal. We are very pleased that our project was selected in the competition and prominently published in the accompanying book.

This excellent condominium is located in Cologne’s Gerling high-rise from the 1950s. When redesigning the premises, we followed the strictly gridded external facade and yet created a homely coziness. The 180-square-meter apartment was designed to take the formal and material language of the Fifties and translate it into the modern era. The result was an elegance that reflects the aesthetics of the historic building on the one hand, and the spirit of the residents. This has now been recognized by the jury of Best of Interior. Like the other entries she selected, our project will be featured in the book “Best of Interior 2022,” which documents these most beautiful living concepts of the German interior scene.
