preservation of existing buildings. Munich\u2019s Building Centre is therefore hosting on June 24th an online forum on the conversion of commercial buildings into residential space. Sabine Krumrey&#8217;s presentation, entitled &#8220;Raumwandel: B\u00fcroimmobilie neu gedacht&#8221; (\u201cSpace Change: rethinking office real estate\u201d), will highlight new approaches.<\/p>\n<p>The event is part of the \u201cUmbaukultur\u201d (\u201cConversion Culture\u201d) series, which uses specialist forums to share practical knowledge and innovative solutions. By presenting new concepts, projects and methods, the series of talks aims to actively contribute to sustainable building and urban development. In part 1 of the series, Sabine Krumrey and other renowned experts will shed light on a reorientation of the construction industry: The high demand for living space and increasingly mobile working behavior are changing the requirements for office buildings. The potential offered by a growing number of vacant commercial buildings could be used to generate new living spaces.
