Modernising existing buildings is one of the most important aspects of a sustainable turnaround in the construction industry. An exceptional project for REWE Markt GmbH in H\u00fcrth near Cologne demonstrates how a space completed in the 1980s can be modernised and upgraded. The existing meeting and training facilities at the Headquarters Region West were to be converted into a flexible spatial structure. In addition to a new usage concept, a high-quality appearance was desired.<\/p>\n

The aim in redesigning the existing areas was to create a distinctive design with a prestigious charm. As with other projects for the REWE Headquarters Region West, the focus was again on sustainability and good repurposability. Under the motto \u201cMeet & Greet\u201d, individual themed areas for meetings, coworking and events were created. Unique spatial zones allow for flexible use of the area. The interior design draws on an urban flair that effectively integrates existing elements. For example, the suspended grid ceiling was removed to increase the room height and incorporate the raw aesthetic of the exposed ribbed ceiling. A custom lighting system showcases the striking ceiling construction and creates varied lighting atmospheres. The ceiling painted in bright red, green wall tiles and a bar counter create a subtle club atmosphere in the bar and catering area. High-quality conference and upholstered furniture in the light-grey meeting and coworking zones invite people to exchange ideas. Acoustic elements in the newly designed wall and radiator covers ensure good sound quality. The carpet, with its rough texture, also dampens sound and enhances the relaxed urban ambiance. This redesign created a new hub for business meetings and workshops, and thus a successful example of how to convert existing spaces.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
