MTU Aero Engines AG is one of the world\u2019s leading manufacturers of aviation engines. For the more than 5,500 employees at the company site in Munich, a new communication centre with company catering was built. On the upper floor of the two-story building is the GenussWerk with various areas for employee catering. Instead of a traditional canteen, brandherm + krumrey created a culinary meeting point with feel-good spaces for different requirements, individual details and a high level of comfort.<\/p>\n

The idea that eating together promotes communication and strengthens the sense of unity guided the design of the dining areas of the GenussWerk with approx. 800 seats. These are distributed among groups of tables and chairs, padded benches, barstools at high tables for short breaks and coworking spaces. This variety of seating options meets the individual needs of the employees, which were identified prior to planning in close consultation with MTU\u2019s human resources department and works council. The different functions are reflected in individual room modules, some of which are open and others more closed off. This sequence of individual room areas further enhances the overall impression of brightness in the new building, which was realized by RKW Architektur + according to a design by the architectural firm L\u00e4mmler und Falkenstein. The inviting and communicative spatial impression despite the size of the area is achieved through various elements such as planted room dividers or custom-made built-ins with large padded benches. These elements frame the views and divide the different seating areas. Warm red and green shades on walls, built-in fitments and furniture add colourful highlights within the prevailing natural light atmosphere. Natural wood and plant shelves support this pleasant ambiance, giving it a biophilic touch. Semi-open areas such as the \u201cGreen Oasis\u201d create their own spatial situations with a more intimate atmosphere. Nothing was left to chance: even the tableware is thoughtfully integrated into the overall concept.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
