Calm haven for team building
brandherm + krumrey have implemented an inspiring Work Lounge in the extension of the Coroplast Group headquarters in Wuppertal. The interior design is based on the concept of a spacious apartment with areas for contemplation and communication. An open spatial impression, materials with a pleasant surface feel and the flowing transition from inside to outside create an atmosphere that is as relaxed as it is stimulating.
The internationally active Coroplast Company can look back on a 90-year history as a family business. The manufacturer of adhesive tapes, cables and wires attaches particular importance to good working conditions for its employees and has already received several awards for its achievements. Having reconfigured the staff restaurant, brandherm + krumrey have already succeeded in upgrading another area of the company premises with an empathetic interior design. In order to increase the feel-good appeal for the employees, the new Work Lounge was also given a particularly homely design. The interior is divided into various functional zones and opens up to the adjoining roof terrace via large glass panels. The central area with lounge furniture and an open fireplace is both a calm haven and a meeting zone for team building. A seating landscape sunk into the floor connects the interior with the exterior and offers space for relaxation or “campfire discussions”. A kitchen area with a large dining table, which due to its dark colour effectively stands out from the otherwise light interior, also serves as an informal meeting point. Seating niches on the rear wall are available for retreat or concentrated work. Sensually appealing materials such as natural wood, leather and coloured textiles emphasise the homely character of the new Work Lounge.
