The Fizz is a new housing concept for students offered by International Campus GmbH. The key element of the brand philosophy is the experience of community in fully furnished apartment buildings. For the most recently opened student residence in Freiburg, brandherm + krumrey therefore designed the public areas like a lounge, a gaming room, a study room and a communal kitchen. Based on the brand’s corporate colour world, a stimulating environment was created for the community of residents.
The lobby of the Freiburg location already reflects the brand essence of The Fizz: selected design and cheerfully bright colours emphasise the inviting ambience of the temporary accommodation. Groups of upholstered furniture and seating niches are spread throughout the reception area, inviting people to relax together or have a chat. In collaboration with the local art school, paintings with a very personal touch were created for the walls. The pleasant materiality and colours of the reception are continued in the other common rooms. Loosely grouped lounge furniture allows flexible use for different occasions. Built-in units complement the individual pieces of furniture and provide customised storage space. A wall graphic playfully connects the jointly used areas. The idea of communal living thus gave rise to a lively and individual interior design that not only strengthens the brand but also sets standards for future locations.
