Splendid Spatial Experience

The Rheinpalais in Cologne offers a pleasant working environment within historic walls. The special feature of the project is already apparent from the outside: in the stately architecture of the former executive building dating from 1910, brandherm + krumrey designed a modern working world with a generous spatial experience.

The new office areas should be prestigious but not exaggerated. The diverse room programme was therefore implemented with clear shapes and a high design standard. This is primarily reflected in the choice of materials and colourful furnishings. With a ceiling height of up to seven metres, the office spaces convey a generous and open impression. This presented a particular challenge for the planning of room acoustics. To counteract unwanted noise, ceiling elements and room dividers designed as eyecatchers were incorporated into the interior design. As a harmonious unit, interior design and historical architecture thus create a special ambience with a view of the Rhine.
