Holistic experience

brandherm + krumrey designed Birkenstock’s new showroom in London on the legendary New Bond Street. Here, Germany’s largest shoe manufacturer presents itself in a feel-good ambience that congenially expresses the brand’s philosophy. Natural materials and a clear spatial structure make the interior design a holistic experience.

In order to make the brand philosophy tangible, the London showroom was divided into different areas: In the centre is the so-called “workstation” – a room-in-a-room structured by massive oak panels, which offers space for conversations with customers or informal meetings. Illuminated shelves, which stand out effectively from the anthracite-coloured walls, also highlight the shoe fashion and simultaneously emphasise the linear room structure. Selected furniture design and few decorative elements characterise the high-quality yet relaxed atmosphere.
