The German Sustainability Award is the most comprehensive award of its kind in Europe. This year, the DNP has been expanded to include the award category of design for the first time. Susanne Brandherm is a member of the jury for the prestigious award, which honours exemplary examples of sustainable design. Established icons are considered as are current pioneers and visions for a more sustainable future. Together with other renowned jurors, Susanne Brandherm decides on the distinction of the best sustainable solutions. The entries come from all areas of design: construction and furnishing, clothing and accessories, communication, mobility and transport, health and care, packaging, leisure and tourism, food and agriculture, information and education, and work and office.
The new award category for sustainable design was launched as scheduled on 23 March and will be carried out as planned. Due to the Corona pandemic, the competition procedure has been adapted to accommodate the participants: The application is made online and is supported by digital information. If applications are filled out in home offices and blanks occur, these can be filled later or taken into account in the assessment. Deadlines will be extended upon request. Companies of all sizes, designers within and outside agencies, students and start-ups are eligible to apply. The application period ends on 15 June. The festive awards ceremony will take place on 3 December in Düsseldorf.
